Library opening hours to change, new carbon reduction project and more
South Gloucestershire Council - 17th April 2024
Welcome to this week’s council and community news update
New library opening hours
Following resident's feedback in the budget consultation at the end of last year, we are pleased to update you that all South Glos libraries will remain open, with staffed hours focussed on when users need them the most. The savings target for libraries has been reduced thanks to a decision to reduce the brightness of the district's streetlights between 11pm and 6am. This will mean savings in energy costs that can be used to offset savings that were needed to be made by libraries. It also reduces the authority’s carbon footprint.
