Service of Commemoration

When: Saturday 22nd February 2025 - from 11am
Where: Yate Leisure Centre and St Mary’s Church, Church Road, Yate, BS37 5BG
Join us in Yate to mark three years since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Event Schedule
11am – Gather at Yate Leisure Centre for speeches by Ukrainian community representatives, visual expression, and a walk to St Mary’s Church.
12–2pm – Commemoration service at St Mary’s Church, which will include:
- a candlelit vigil
- musical accompaniment by Ukrainian performers
- sharing of traditional Ukrainian food
- a photo exhibition
- a screening of a short documentary titled ‘Three Years Since the Start of the Full-Scale War.’
During the event, the organisation Ukraine Aid and Welfare will hold a fundraising collection, and there will also be a collection point for humanitarian aid for Ukraine – with a particular need for items for mothers and babies.
