As part of the preparatory work for the Cribbs Patchway MetroBus Extension (CPME) scheme, South Gloucestershire Council’s Streetcare team is undertaking investigative works on Gipsy Patch Lane during April and May. The work involves digging temporary trial trenches to confirm the location of underground utilities.
As part of this, Gipsy Patch Lane will need to be closed to traffic at the railway bridge for three weekends, the first of which is scheduled to start on the night of Fri 21st April. The work is being carried out at weekends to minimise traffic disruption.
The precise weekends and times are yet to be confirmed as confirmation is required from nearby quarries, who supply materials, that they will open and accessible which they don’t provide until around a week before.
Access to side roads and properties off Gipsy Patch Lane will still be possible during the closures as the road will only be closed at the bridge. Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to travel under the bridge with an escort when safe to do so.
As soon as dates and times of the closures are firmed up signs will be displayed on Gipsy Patch Lane to let local people and businesses know. The attached advanced notice letter will be circulated to residents and businesses fronting/backing onto Gypsy Patch Lane.
